iOS doing the Android thing. So what?

Tables have turned? Well, not quite!

It has been a while since Android came into existence. No matter what android users and the fan base say about the mobile operating system, it has been largely inspired from the very first version of an iPhone/iOS combination. Starting from the slide to unlock, to the no nonsense home-screen with minimal buttons to the actual hardware produced by all the manufacturers including Sammy and HTC are a replica of the iOS and the iPhone.

The Notifications bar (iOS 5)

The latest iteration of iOS however seems to have taken inspiration from it's arch rival. From the notifications bar to the live widgets, a person who's used both the operating systems can understand where apple's inspiration has come from and I don't really think there is anything wrong with that. Google took a whole bunch of inspiration from Apple when they released an android enabled handset.

Android might be open, cheaper, have about 300-400 handset options; But from an end user experience standpoint, the iPhone with iOS 5 is still the one to beat.
